On December 1st I have defended my PhD thesis entitled "Fields, farms and colonists: intensive field survey and early Roman colonization in the Pontine region, central Italy"
On October 1st I have started with Gijs Tol a 5-year research project entitled "Fora, stationes, and sanctuaries: the role of minor centers in the economy of Roman Central Italy"
With this project we aim to better understand local and regional economic systems through a study of two minor centres and their rural hinterlands. For more information, see
