In my PhD research I'm focusing on young people and their experiences of inclusion and exclusion in their everyday context. My research group for this particular project is rural youth in Estonia (Järva-Jaani). In my previous research project in Canada and while working with young people in Estonia I've became particularly interested in developing and testing visual and (inter)active research methods such as film, photography, walks and mental mapping. The young people of my research have been and are participating actively in the whole research process (from generating questionnaires, planning walks, making movies, photos and drawings to analyzing collected material).
